As I look back on my term as President of the Emirates Toastmasters Club from July 2022 to June 2023, I am filled with gratitude for the invaluable lessons learned and the incredible journey experienced. My tenure as President was not originally planned; however, the opportunity arose unexpectedly, and I embraced it wholeheartedly despite initially intending to experience all Executive Committee roles beforehand.

Stepping into the role of President presented a various challenges and opportunities. From navigating unforeseen circumstances to fostering unity within the club, each day brought new lessons and insights. Despite the initial apprehension of not having fulfilled all ExCom roles, I quickly realized that leadership is not solely about adhering to a predetermined path but rather about seizing opportunities for growth and development.

One of the most profound lessons I learned during my presidency was the importance of embracing gratitude in leadership. During the hectic schedule and numerous responsibilities, I made a conscious effort to express appreciation for the dedication, hard work, and contributions of our members. Whether it was recognizing milestones, celebrating achievements, or simply expressing gratitude for their commitment, fostering a culture of appreciation became a cornerstone of my leadership approach.
